I had fun with this game, it was a really cute premise. The livechat was so real omg I think it was really well-written, there's a strong sense of character. The UI was really nicely done, love the icons at the bottom of the text box, it feels a lot less cluttery. But the colours and text just worked well, paired down enough to have a consistent theme throughout.
Very nice short experience, ideal for Halloween mid-day or, say, All Hallows’ Day between going to the church and visiting graveyards. The idea of playing as a streamer is quite innovative and having an audience that lively and believably reacts to your decisions is a really fresh thing to have in a point-and-click adventure game. I can easily see it being used in a much longer project. Overall A+ if you know what kind of games this is, as it achieves exactly what it tries to achieve. Certainly not the greatest story ever told, but we also need some projects with much less ambition from time to time. And this is why we have itch.io and such games as “Live Scream”.
try examining some things multiple times, or again after you've received new information. notable examples are the postcards on the fridge, the bookshelf in the living room, and the family portrait. your character will notice the basement door in the kitchen once they know enough ?
i can't figure out how to get the worst one, but for the best: avoid anything that brings down your audience score, do anything that brings it up. here's what i ended up doing: 1. tell the full story. 2. try to climb the stairs. 3. avoid examining the teddy bear. open the evil book (by examining the bookshelf twice), then examine the wedding photo. 4. open the fridge. examine the postcards twice. 5. step in the summoning circle but don't light the candles 6. leave the house and speculate they sacrificed their daughter
i tried doing this and still didn't have enough audience score, so i'm just going to comment some additional things that I did:
- get mauled by the racoon. honestly didn't know this was going to happen so i don't know exactly what triggered the interaction. i had kinda low terror and it was the first action i did in the kitchen so it could be either of those
to get the worst stream achievement, tell the short version of the story, then do not examine ANYTHING in the house, moving from the hall ==> living room ==> kitchen, then just leave and say nothing supernatural happened.
Cute game! You did some really cool things with the interface in Ren'Py, which is always interesting to see. I also love how you included gendered terms & pronouns as two separate settings, which I don't think I've seen before.
We look for opportunities where we can do stuff like this. It means a lot to some people so we're happy to do it. I think options like this will get more common in the future.

The game is quite short but the many options and endings makes it worth while!
bad. no true ending
Really charming and polished experience. Would love a longer game with a similar style!
Short and sweet is the name of the game! Very polished and charming.
Loved the experience. In general it's a really short and really fun experience. Still couldnt figure out the mystery, tho haha
love the art and designs and concept. thanks :)
Man I wish there was some kind of achievement guide for this. I'm struggling with a few, especially the basement one

loved it, it was fun and had a good story. may i ask tho how to get the narrow avoiding acheivement? im not sure what exactly i need to do.
enter the summoning circle and light the candles but with low terror. :) so generally look for the story of the family, but avoid the ghosts.
loved it but i could never get the worst or best stream achievements ;(
May I ask how did you manage to unlock the basement? I've managed to trigger it only once, but not sure how and I need to do it again.

I admire the creativity in the design and execution of this visual novel! So many fun and unique elements!
